Senior Structural Engineer

7+ years experience · On-site

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Leading structural engineering projects, including detailed design and field review during the construction phase for general conformance with the design drawings and documents
  • Liaising with clients, building officials and/or regulatory bodies and contractors
  • Working directly with the principal
  • Site review and measuring existing site conditions
  • Other duties as may be assigned from time to time

Qualifications

  • University degree in Civil/Structural Engineering
  • Licensed Professional Engineer in Ontario and in good standing
  • 7+ years of design experience on structural engineering projects in Ontario
  • Lightweight Steel Framing LSF (Exterior wind-bearing and interior non-loadbearing)
  • Design of seismic restraints for non-structural components and equipment
  • Concrete anchorage design (LSF, Guards, Seismic restraints, Roof Anchors)
  • Residential Design (Wood framing, Steel Beams, Concrete Ftg’s, Concrete/Masonry Fdn Walls, Masonry veneer) (New/Renovations/Remediations)
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and an ability to work independently or as part of a team
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills in English (French considered an asset)
  • Proficient with all applicable building codes and design standards
  • Proficient with Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook
  • Familiar with AutoCAD and Revit
  • Possess a valid driver’s license and has full-time access to a vehicle with valid registration and insurance

Junior Structural Engineer

3+ years experience · On-site

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Assisting with structural engineering projects, including design and field review during the construction phase for general conformance with the design drawings and documents
  • Liaising with clients, building officials and/or regulatory bodies and contractors
  • Working directly with the principal
  • Site review and measuring existing site conditions
  • Other duties as may be assigned from time to time

Qualifications

  • University degree in Civil/Structural Engineering
  • Licensed Professional Engineer or an Engineering in Training in Ontario, and in good standing
  • 3+ years of design experience on structural engineering projects in Ontario
  • Familiar with all applicable building codes and design standards
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and an ability to work independently or as part of a team
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills in English (French considered an asset)
  • Proficient with Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook
  • Familiar with AutoCAD and Revit
  • Possess a valid driver’s license and has full-time access to a vehicle with valid registration and insurance

Architectural Technologist

On-site

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Measuring and completing as-built drawings
  • Completing structural shop drawings to be submitted for consultant’s review
  • Completing residential project design drawings as per the OBC that are adequate for building permit application, client/contractor review, and/or construction
  • Liaising with clients, building officials and/or regulatory bodies, and contractors
  • Site review and measuring existing site conditions
  • Other duties as may be assigned from time to time

Qualifications

  • Graduate from an Architectural Technology program
  • Proficient with AutoCAD and Revit (3+ years experience)
  • Proficient with the Ontario Building Code and residential wood framed construction
  • Have an active BCIN (Building Code Identification Number): House or Small Buildings
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and an ability to work independently or as part of a team
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills in English (French considered an asset)
  • Familiar with Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook
  • Possess a valid driver’s license and has full-time access to a vehicle with valid registration and insurance
